DVD chronicle Lithuanian Theatre is the first digital bilingual (Lithuanian and English) cultural periodical in Lithuania launched in 2008. The DVD includes excerpts from the performances, interviews with the creators and comments by professional theatre critics in the form of video and text. In the second volume of the chronicle Lithuanian Theatre there are presented the most significant events and remarkable personalities of Lithuanian theatre of the 2007-2008 season.
The first chapter of the chronicle Lithuanian Theatre presents the selected drama, puppet and dance performances:
The Personalities chapter introduces the most distinguished theatre artists of the season – actor Darius Meškauskas, choreographer Aira Naginevičiūtė, director Agnius Jankevičius, and set designer Julija Skuratova.
Theme chapter continues the presentation of the young Lithuanian theatre started in the first volume of the chronicle. There are presented Utopia Theatre (artistic leader – Gintaras Varnas) as well as the group of stage directors completed their studies at the Lithuanian Music and Theatre Academy under the guidance of Rimas Tuminas.
The Non-Format chapter is dedicated to innovative and non-traditional theatrical appearances. This time our focus falls on the outstanding interpretation of the madrigal operas by Claudio Monteverdi by director Gintaras Varnas, recognized as one of the highlights of Lithuanian theatre of the 2007-2008 season.
