Lithuanian city Trakai is best known for the beauty of its castle, which is the centre of all the citie‘s entertainments. All the major events and various feasts take place near the castle. The city itself is surrounded by lakes on all sides.

The city was built by people of different nationalities. Trakai is also known to be the home of a rather big Karaim community. Traditional three-window Karaim houses can be seen in the city along with the Karaim kenesa, a wooden synagogue. Tourists come to Trakai to see the citie’s beautiful castle, to walk in the citie’s Historical National Park and to admire the history of the city which can still be found in the streets and historical locations.
